Directions to Camp Jewett from Bakersfield: The drive takes about 1½ hours from Bakersfield.

• The shortest route from town heads north on Airport Drive, which turns into the Bakersfield-Glennville Road after it crosses North Chester Avenue. It is also possible to take North Chester and turn right onto the Bakersfield-Glennville Road at the Airport Drive intersection.
• Continue on the road to Glennville for about 30 miles and turn right (east) onto Highway 155.
• Continue east on Highway 155 about 23 miles to Greenhorn Summit, then turn right (south) on Rancheria Road towards Shirley Meadows ski resort.
• Continue past Shirley Meadows to the dirt road on the far side, and turn right at Rhymes Campground onto Alder Creek Road (dirt), at a point about 4½ miles from Highway 155.
• At the first opportunity (a little more than ½ mile from the turnoff), turn right at a junction and head down a steep grade. When the road reaches the bottom of the grade and makes a sharp turn to the left, about 6½ miles from Highway 155, the Camp Jewett gate will appear on the right.

Directions to Camp Jewett from Ridgecrest: The drive takes about 2 hours from Ridgecrest.

• The shortest route from Ridgecrest follows Highway 178 southwest to Lake Isabella.
• At the southwest end of the lake, exit onto Highway 155 and follow it north for about 7 miles to Wofford Heights.
• Continue on Highway 155 another 7 miles to Greenhorn Summit, where you turn left (south) on Rancheria Road towards the Shirley Meadows ski resort.
• Continue past Shirley Meadows parking to the dirt road on the far side, and turn right at Rhymes Campground onto Alder Creek Road (dirt) at a point about 4½ miles from Highway 155.
• At the first opportunity (a little more than ½ mile from the turnoff), turn right at a junction and head down a steep grade. When the road reaches the bottom of the grade and makes a sharp turn to the left, about 6½ miles from Highway 155, the Camp Jewett gate will appear on the right.
