Trailhead Location:
9 miles south of Lone Pine on Hwy. 395, turn west on Cottonwood Creek Road. Drive 3.1 miles to arrive at the trail head.

Dates open:
Usually from late June through October, depending on the snowpack.

Type of camp:
Backpack 5.7 miles on a moderate trail.

Permits:
Forest service wilderness permit. No campfires.

Highest elevation reached:
9,000 feet

Comments:
Purify water, watch for bears, some fishing and pack out all trash.
