Trail head Location:
In Bishop turn West at Main and Line Streets onto Hwy. 168 (Line Street). Follow Hwy. 168 west for about 18 miles and turn right at the North Lake turn off (just pass Aspendell). Continue past North Lake to the campground and parking lot. The trail head is well marked.

Dates open:
Usually from late June through October, depending on the snowpack.

Type of camp:
Backpack 5 miles on a moderate to  strenuous trail. Highest elevation reached is 11,420 feet.

Permits:
Forest service wilderness permit. No campfires.

Comments:
Purify water, watch for bears and pack out all trash.
